Chicken Hatching Program – Important Information & Liability Disclaimer
Hatch Rate & Biological Variability
Lobbscraft&Feather takes every reasonable measure to ensure the highest possible hatch success, including the use of quality fertilised eggs, well-maintained incubators, and experienced handling practices. However, poultry hatching is a natural biological process and hatch rates can vary.
Despite best practice, factors outside our control may affect outcomes, including but not limited to:
-
Natural embryo development issues
-
Infertility or early embryo loss
-
Power outages or electrical faults
-
Temperature or humidity fluctuations
-
Handling or environmental conditions once the incubator is onsite
-
By participating in the Chicken Hatching Program, schools acknowledge that a successful hatch cannot be guaranteed, and that reduced hatch rates do not constitute a fault in service.
Limitation of Liability
Lobbscraft&Feather shall not be held liable for:
-
Partial or complete hatch failure
-
Loss of embryos or chicks due to natural causes
-
Power failures, environmental events, or circumstances beyond reasonable control
No refunds, returns, or discounts will be provided due to hatch rate variability.
Animal Welfare & Duty of Care
Animal welfare remains a priority at all times. Where required, Lobbscraft&Feather reserves the right to remove chicks or terminate the program early if animal welfare concerns arise.

Conditions of goods after sale
All care is taken to select quality materials and construction methods. Larger items such as chicken coops, runs, and brooder boxes are strengthened with pine framing. Exteriors are treated with a water-repellent stain and 4-Seasons exterior paint for increased durability.
Brooder boxes and nesting boxes are constructed from non-structural plywood and are designed for undercover or indoor use only. All ply-based products are raised 35mm off the ground to help reduce direct moisture absorption. Puppy pads are included with brooder boxes to assist with further moisture protection; replacement and ongoing maintenance of the pads are the responsibility of the buyer.
Chicken coops and runs also use non-structural plywood and are recommended for placement in sheltered outdoor areas. While protective coatings are applied, plywood remains a natural material subject to expansion, contraction, and weathering.
Due to the nature of the materials, we offer a 3-month structural warranty on chicken coops, runs, brooder boxes, and nesting boxes. This warranty covers defects in workmanship under recommended use conditions (e.g., faulty construction, failed joints under proper indoor/sheltered use).
Damage caused by weather exposure, water damage, misuse, modification, or lack of maintenance is not covered. Once goods have been collected or delivered, Lobbscraft&Feather is not responsible for any deterioration, wear, rot, or material movement that occurs after the warranty period.
Poultry Sales
-
All chicks sold as ‘pullets’ (young hens) are sexed to the best of our ability. While we take great care and use our experience to ensure accuracy, sexing poultry at a young age is not 100% guaranteed.
-
Buyers are encouraged to personally inspect birds before purchase. By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of human error.
-
If a pullet later matures into a rooster, we do not accept returns; however, we are happy to offer one replacement pullet free of charge (subject to availability and only if solfd as a sexed pullet).
-
Poultry are live animals and conditions may change post-sale. No refunds, returns, or exchanges are available for health issues arising after collection.
-
We do not cover veterinary expenses, feed, transport costs, or any ongoing costs after the sale is complete.
Maintenance Recommendation:
-
To maximise the lifespan of your coop, we recommend reapplying a quality exterior paint and timber stain every 2 years, or as needed depending on exposure to the elements.
-
All brooder boxes are raised by 35mm to help reduce moisture absorption. Puppy pads are included to provide extra moisture protection inside the box. Replacing the puppy pads regularly is the responsibility of the owner and is essential for maintaining the condition of the product.
Handmade Gifts and Pamper Boxes
-
All handmade items, including keyrings, candles, wax melts, and pamper box contents, are made with care. Minor variations or imperfections are part of the handmade nature and are not considered faults.
-
We recommend handling keyrings and small accessories with care, as rough use may cause breakage.
-
If you have allergies or sensitivities, please contact us prior to purchase to request a full ingredients list for candles, wax melts, or pamper box inclusions. We are not liable for allergic reactions or skin sensitivities resulting from use.
